What to Expect
So many essential attributes are needed when finding a good inspection company. When you hire Meadows, you will work alongside Home Inspector Alex Murphy (that's me!), who will guide you through the property. My experience in remodeling, HVAC installs, and repairs will aid you in receiving a quality inspection. Throughout the inspection, defects will be brought to your attention.
Please be present during the inspection, and I invite you to bring friends, family, and other professionals as you would like. Feel free to follow me around the property at the appointment, or you can explore independently. I highly enjoy pausing the inspection to educate my clients about a finding. Sometimes that is because of a concern, while I have an upgraded item to inform you about other times. Then, before leaving the property, we will go over a summary of all the findings.
A thermal imaging camera reveals a cold spot where water is present from a leak otherwise not detectable. Notice how the heat register is glowing hot.
How can technology give you an advantage? Walking on the rooftop is preferred when the roof access height and pitch allow. However, when this is not an option, I bring a drone and am a certified pilot under FAA Part 107, which almost guarantees that you receive a roof-level inspection.
Other technical tools are used to inspect the home as well. For example, a thermal imaging camera scans the surface temperature of building materials such as electrical, drywall, and wood. Water intrusion is then confirmed with a moisture meter. These tools are used on every inspection.
So the question is, "What Should I Expect?" The answer is a friendly inspector with construction experience, a love for technology, and the ability to communicate in terms you will understand. Choosing the right inspection company is challenging. Please take a moment to read my Google Reviews or interview me over the phone at (847)525-2539. I look forward to seeing you at the appointment.
